Here come the women’s seconds, the Oxford Turtles. Meet the team before Varsity II-IVs on Saturday.
After storming South Park to a 3rd place finish at Cuppers and a strong run at Milton Keynes, the only undergrad fresher on the Seconds team will be looking for an Oxford victory in her first Varsity match.
The Shotover hills are nothing compared to the Lake District peaks for this Cumbrian fell runner, who will be aiming to top her 4th place finish in Seconds at Shotover in 2015.
Although potentially implicated in the 2017 Men’s Cupper’s race-fixing scandal, pending further investigation the other half of the women’s captain team will be looking to repeat her strong Seconds performance from last year.
An orienteering specialist, finishing 5th in BUCS Orienteering last year, Cecilie will be sure to avoid any confusion with course maps – if only it was that easy for the OUCCC committee to pronounce her name correctly.
Now that the #countdowntoVarsity is almost up, last year’s Women’s Captain and two time Blues team member will be chasing another Oxford win after her Blues team victory last year.
The other half of the social sec dynamic duo, Anna had a strong race at Milton Keynes and will be looking to avenge last year’s loss for Oxford in her second Second’s match.
US 800m athlete turned UK cross country runner, this year’s Women’s Captain and former Blues and Seconds runner will brave the mud at Shotover in search of overall Oxford victory.
Come to Shotover this Saturday and cheer us on:
